With the calendar turning to a new year, we’re marking a milestone – 25 years of operations. Founded in 2000, UTAM is the investment manager for the University of Toronto. Today, we manage the university’s endowment and short-term working capital assets, which amount to more than $9 billion.
Over the past 25 years, much has changed. Markets have evolved; expectations for responsible investing, stewardship and reporting have sharpened; and the role of endowment asset management in supporting the university’s growth has expanded. UTAM has always kept pace with these changes. Our team is a little bigger now, our prudent and disciplined investment practices have been refined and deepened, and we’re responsible for a significantly larger portfolio.
To mark this occasion, we’re sprucing up our look for the year: UTAM will be using special 25-year logos as a visual acknowledgment of this milestone.
We’re always looking beyond the new year ahead. In an increasingly complex and dynamic environment, our approach to the next 25 years will be straightforward: applying the experience we’ve gained to continue supporting U of T’s long-term goals.
