William W. Moriarty, CFA President & CEO
William W. Moriarty, CFA is President and Chief Executive Officer of the University of Toronto Asset Management Corporation. Prior to joining UTAM in April 2008, Mr. Moriarty was a Vice Chairman of RBC Capital Markets. Over his career at RBC, which began in 1983, Mr. Moriarty has served as: Director of Equity Research and Chair of the Investment Strategy Committee; Head of the Global Research Division; Head of the Global Equity Division; Co-Head of the Capital Markets Services Division; and Head of the Alternative Investments Division. He was also a member of the Bank’s Pension Investment Committee, and a Director of RBC Asset Management Inc. and RBC Capital Partners Limited. In addition, he has served on several community, industry and public Boards and was a founding director of IIROC and the Chair of Market Regulation Services Inc. – the SRO which regulated securities trading and market related activities of participants on Canadian Stock Exchanges and alternative trading systems. Mr. Moriarty holds a BA from the University of Toronto and an MA from the University of Chicago.

Karen J. Coll, CFA Managing Director, Public Investments
Karen Coll joined UTAM in July 2005. Her responsibilities include investment strategy for all public equity and fixed income portfolios and the selection and monitoring of external managers.
Karen has extensive investment management experience with leading financial organizations. Over her twenty five year career prior to joining UTAM, she had served in senior investment roles including Vice President Fixed Income, and Vice President International Equities, with Sun Life Investment Management; Vice President, Global Equity Management with Templeton Management Limited; Director, Global Fixed Income, with Canada Trust Investment Management; and Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Scotia Cassels Investment Counsel. Karen has served as a Director of The Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and is a member of the CFA Institute and The Toronto CFA Society. She is a member of the investment committee of the North York Hospital Foundation; and has served on the investment committees of the Ontario March of Dimes and the Girl Guides of Canada, National Council.
Karen earned a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

John T. Hsu, MBA FCMA Managing Director, Risk Management and Operations
John Hsu joined UTAM in August 2005 with responsibility for the oversight of UTAM's operations, including its finance and risk management functions. Prior to joining UTAM, John has twenty years' experience in investment and capital markets as head of Investment Risk Analytics at Manulife Financial and, before that, with the derivatives and capital markets groups at Wood Gundy (now CIBC World Markets), Citibank and Royal Bank.
He is currently the First Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors of the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario (CMA Ontario), and the Chair of its Strategic & Risk Management Committee. He also serves the Greater Toronto Scout Foundation as a member of its Board of Directors and Investment Committee, and was the past Treasurer & Finance Committee Chair of Scouts Canada, Greater Toronto.
John earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Toronto. In addition, he holds the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation, and is a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (FCMA).
